funky céilí

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
Irish blessing, anonymouse

one of nyc great irish bands black 47 performing their classic funky céilí . the band name commemorates the summer of 1847 the worst year of the great irish famine. we've been big fans of black 47 since we first saw them in concert in new haven in the early 1990s - they are an incredible band to see live - fortunately they are still going strong and touring throughout the u.s.

thanks for that! I know a young woman who has been attending weekly ceilis, and will appreciate the song.
