The test of an adventure is that when you're in the middle of it, you say to yourself 'Oh now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home.' And the sign that something's wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure.

Thornton Wilder (1897-1975) playwright and novelist

today I went for it and streamlined the url's for mouse medicine and the lakewood daily snap. in the course of making the transition it appears that I may have made a mess and lost the blogrolls which accompanied each blog. I'm crossing my fingers that in the course of the next three days* the blogrolls will miraculously (re)appear - if they don't I'm going to be in the dumps and feel really disconnected -- I depend on my blogrolls to visit all my buds in the bloggyhood.

least my patience be for naught, has anyone else stayed with blogger, registered a unique domain name, and transitioned their blog to a new name and discover after 3 days the blogroll doesn't make the transition? if so let me know the skinny. if the blogroll is gone forever, I can start building it up again! yikes, now there is a test for my gray matter!

furthermore, it appears that the gadget that mouse's friends (followers) is now configured only for the new url

I have learned that if the mouse is on your blogroll I probably have messed things up, and you may have to edit the mouse's address -- especially if your blogroll is configured to have blogs listed chronologically. but we are still in the 'transition period' so who knows what that might mean!

disconnected from rancid's 2009 album let the dominos fall.

I like what the band has to say about the song - it definitely connects with how I sometimes feel

This song is about that evolution of change. For better or worse our country isn't the same as when we were younger. When you grow up in America you're taught in the public school system to be loyal and to love your country through reciting The Pledge of Allegiance. In general, some of us covet it, or in some cases even rebel from it. Sometimes you can feel close or far away from a place, family member or even your own home town. It doesn't mean you love it less or disrespect it by disagreeing with its current values and or views. True patriots will stand for what they believe in, even if it goes against the grain. We jammed this one acoustic after hours and it clicked almost immediately. The way we play the chorus seems straightforward but there is a swing to it. This keeps it moving but still manages to be rocking. It reminds us of Woody Guthrie.
*blogger made note that it might take three days for things be set to right - they didn't use those words, but that was the message

photo: the photo has nothing to do with today's post but it is attention grabbing, is it not. wish I wish I could remember where and when I stumbled upon it - only remember it was when I was off on some wander. it was saved in a folder labeled 'misc snaps' hence it's providence is lost!

I'm a BAAAD influence on you... I'm new to the local bloging scene, and I'm mistakenly messing things up in the neighborhood. :( IF you've been following the blogs via Blogger, I think that it'll add them nicely back, or with Google Reader. But, alas, I've probably put a cork wrench in your system. Sorry..

no worries randy, i'll start rebuilding the mouse's blogroll - i only followed folks blogs via the mouse's blogroll or via comments.

blogger won't let me join your followers OR update my sidebar! :( I'll try again tomorrow.

I am still receiving updates via Google Reader even though you have changed the URL. Don't know why, just thankful I am.

You're still showing up in my blogroll, but there's a big lag between when you post and when it shows up as a new post on my blogroll. Oh well, as long as you show up at all!

If it's any help, I clicked on my blogroll and came straight here even though I haven't updated the url. So I'll keep watching out to make sure you don't disappear.

This post came onto my Blog List no problem.

I haven't even started a blogroll on my new blog...just the blog list. I figure the blog roll will be a summer project. I really like the blog list with its "real time" updates.

You may enjoy rebuilding your blogroll going back, as you said, through previous comments.
