fly me to the moon

Francis (Shan) Yanoshik
August 3, 1922 - August 26, 2010

thank you mouse readers for your kind thoughts, prayers, and concern. it is with a heavy heart that I share the news of my father's death. my dad had a long and good life and in the end my dad had a 'good death' - he did not suffer, his family was always by his side, and the love that surrounded him in his final days was palpable. we all wish he could be here with us forever, but immortality is only possible in our hearts and memories - there is comfort with the knowledge that shan will live forever in the hearts of all of us who love him.

for those interested, the notice which appeared in today's washington post.

I will be away from the bloggyhood until after labor day. thanks for all your kind thoughts. namaste!

Don't believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you'll see the way to fly.
Richard Bach (b.1936 - ) author and aviator

my dad always enjoyed a good sinatra song - he's way past the moon now on his flight home to god.

Kimy, thinking of your fathers' love of flying, the images and song are so appropriate. My thoughts go to you and all his loved ones.
