true colors

In itself, homosexuality is as limiting as heterosexuality: the ideal should be to be capable of loving a woman or a man; either, a human being, without feeling fear, restraint, or obligation.
Simone de Beauvoir (1908 -1986) writer, philosopher, social theorist

in 2007 cyndi launched the first true colors music tour an annual musical event that comes to more and more cities in order to spread awareness and empowerment. earlier this year cyndi helped create the give a damn campaign in order to bring a wider awareness of discrimination of the GLBT community as part of her true colors fund. this campaign encourages straight people to stand up with the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered community and stop the discrimination.

cyndi lauper (b. june 22 1953) singing her 1986 hit true colors - vid made in 2007 to kick-off the first true color tour.

as everyone may know june is gay pride month - educational programs, festivals and parades are happening everywhere - well maybe not everywhere - but they should be! locally, the cleveland pride festival takes place this saturday, june 26 at voinovich park and runs from noon to nine.

I sometimes hear Cyndi on the store's canned music. Who would have thought?

Great photo! Nice to have you back in the blogosphere Mouse!

I didn't know June was Gay Pride Month. Maybe this year I'll go in support of activities.

That photo turned out great! Yay for Gay Pride! :)

(I didn't even notice the Human Rights Campaign sticker while we were there -- that's how observant I am! LOL!)
