talking health care

The I in illness is isolation, and the crucial letters in wellness are we.
author unknown

with 47 million folks uninsured and a president who is committed to doing something about fixing our broken health care system there is lots of talk these days about the health care reform. cleveland's own singer-songwriter deborah van kleef has a great take on the issue. I guarantee you won't only enjoy her tune but will learn a few things too!

now if we can just get everyone in congress to learn the words and sing along!

speaking of obama, health care reform, and cleveland - on thursday after a visit to the cleveland clinic the prez will be holding a town hall meeting at the shaker heights high school. I hope deborah can be there and gets a chance to sing her song,

Ah yes, I think we all know that tune pretty well, don't we? I hope she gets a chance to sing it to the President.

I like the way he called the centrist senators out. Having said that, there will have to be rationing of services in order to cover everyone I think. I have a friend working in the field (pushing for helalth care ) and she says this is probably the way to go.

kimy, her song hits close to home. Our state( Massachusetts )has made it law that you must have( read that "purchase" ), health care, or face heavy fines on your taxes( like we don't pay enough, already ). Many of us still cannot afford it. It's unconstitutional for government to force people to "buy" anything. Health care is a commodity, traded as such. I fear the U.S.( GOV'T ) will never wake up and adjust; just keep bowing down to corporate greed. Sod all to the banks and auto bail-outs! They just don't get it!

It's interesting to watch various interest groups and political participants get so worked up about this issue. (Not that it isn't important -- I get worked up too!)
