Thorough bush, thorough brier,
Over park, over pale,
Thorough flood, thorough fire,
I do wander everywhere.
it's spring and the time of year this mouse finds it hard to resist the call to wander.
this year I have headed south to the land of brilliant sunsets, dramatic skies, horned frogs, longhorns, bluebonnets, indian paintbrushes, big hair, the possiblity of mexican food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a hundred things that can make me smile. the thing that has me smiling most is that over the next week or so I'll be visiting with a lot of folks that I love!
no new posts until april 28th -- once home, you can count on a few texas tales and most likely more than a few snaps.
at first I thought of willie's song 'on the road again' for the title of today's post, but I used this song before, instead today's tune is a song by modest mouse (a group that has one of the best band names of all time, but maybe I am biased in this regard....)
photo: some texas road, somewhere outside of austin, sometime I was traveling through....

Bon voyage - and have some chile verde for me, okay?
Good luck on your trip! And don't forget to give us reports from the road.
wanderlust strikes big time in Graulhet with this one. B-i-g T-i-m-e.
Enjoy, kimy. After the chile verde, please consider a quesadilla or two, a bit of chili, a bite of barbecue, hm...salsa, enchiladas, oh! don't forget guacamole, let's see....
Enjoy!
xx
Wish you were coming ALL the way west. But maybe someday!
Enjoy, enjoy, dear Mouse!
Bon voyage and enjoy the wandering - while I settle down to hibernate! ;-)
"more than a few snaps" mmm, no doubt!
looking forward to them - i hope its a great trip.

Have a good time. Listen for the interesting grammatical constructs like "might could" and "might should." The Hill Country should be gorgeous now. And Austin is always beautiful.
Have fun & stay away from teabags.
Oh, I love this hilly road in your picture. Have fun! Mexican for breakfast sounds oh-so-yummy.
I Don't think I'll pass you, kimy. I hope to be in New Mexico ere then. And I know just the right place for Mexican food, in Portales! Safe trip! and watch those tumble weeds!!
Will you be helping out with the potential Lone Star State secession?
howdy from tejas!!

weather is a lovely mix....a little rain a couple days ago which made for a good day to visit the modern (museum)
haven't had my hat trick of mexican food yet (breakfast, lunch, dinner) but have had it once a day so far.... expect I'll do the hat trip later when I get to austin.
megan - hopefully I will make it to the city of angels sometime in the not too distant future!
subby - I will be watching out for tumbleweeds
sparkler - definitely will dodging whatever teabags are being hurled about....oh there are some crazies here when it come to politics....
as squirrel so pointedly alludes to...
can you believe the governor is advocating seccession .... what a loon.

p.s. heard & saw jimmy vaugh last night at the ft worth main street festival!! wow!!!
hope everyone is having a good one!
Just love it!
Bon Voyage and travel safe. I have two commenters in Texas and would love to visit! BTW that road looks rather Australian!
Have a great trip!
We've been doing the same thing. Sometimes you just need some new sights! Have fun, travel safe. We'll wait for you to come back with some Texas stories.
I'm not much of a fan of Texas, but that is one of the more tolerable parts of the state. After years in California I've come to appreciate the topography there more and don't dismiss it as bland the way I used to.
There's no grass growing under your feet, that's for sure!
happy earth day~
I talked to a Texas friend yesterday about how much I miss the plethora of wildflowers this time of year. And of course, I miss sunsets, eating at Benito's, and hanging out with the big-hearted, laid-back, compassionate souls who are the underground of my beloved Tejas. Drink it in for me.
thorough... fare? :p
:D have a great trip!
