good day sunshine

When you begin to touch your heart or let your heart be touched, you begin to discover that it's bottomless, that it doesn't have any resolution, that this heart is huge, vast, and limitless. You begin to discover how much warmth and gentleness is there, as well as how much space.
Pema Chodron (b. 1936) teacher, writer, buddhist nun

My therapist recommended "When Things Fall Apart" by Pema Chodron. It is a very helpful book.

I meant to add I love the red squirrel. We rarely see them in the White Mtns. I'm told the grey squirrels chased them off some years ago. I know this was a favorite model of Beatrix Potter.

Love the squirrel and the quotation is beautiful. I'm a firm believer that good can be found in all people.

there are 4 squirrels that are regulars in my back yard, this guy is by far the friendliest and the boldest....if i don't remember to put food out he comes and jumps on the back porch and positions himself so he can look in the back door! I think that most of the squirrels we have around here are eastern gray squirrels - like this fellow - but there is some color variation with some having a good bit of red and some very dark bordering on black! in fact today I was visiting friends who live in a town southeast of cleveland -one squirrel in their yard was black with a red tail, but it was a 'gray squirrel'!

I read 'when things fall apart' a while ago....yes, incredibly helpful book! have recommended it to many friends over the years!

I am completely nuts about squirrels!!!!

most of the day was sunny, but it was cold!!!!! hear there's some serious snow happening down south!!!

Wow - that is a splendid photo of the little guy on the fence. I need to reread some Pema Chodron..."when things Fall apart" seems pretty relevant in these times/

I loved the comment on how the heart expands, but the heart must be wary of being deceived also, and not be foolish or naieve. It really is a delicate balance, but one worthy to be made.
