voice for peace

meditation stones located outside the friends committee on national legislation headquarters in washington d.c.

the fcnl urges president obama to dedicate his administration to the work of making peace. sounds like a plan - let's all help.

the beautiful song a voice for peace by the late dan fogelberg.

The meditation stones bring tears to my eyes. We have so far to go until people realize that peace is not the pause between wars. I'm in -- for creating a peaceful world, for helping to bring about a shift in consciousness.

the one that strikes me is that peace is possible. i think that lots of people forget that part- that it's a choice, that there can be another way. thanks.

While there is hope, there is a way. Peace IS possible, but only if we all believe in it. Love the stones, love the blog.

Working for peace; a concept that needs embracing immediately.

Kim, those stones remind me of my favorite Ursula K. LeGuin quote, from The Left Hand of Darkness: "If civilization has an opposite, it is war. Of these two things, you have either one, or the other. Not both."

Have you gotten back home and caught up on your sleep yet?

A wise and gifted young boy wrote: “Peace is possible. It can begin simply, over a game of chess and a cup of tea.” Those are the words of Mattie J. T. Stepanek (1990-2004), Poet, Philosopher, and Peacemaker.

I don't know anything about the National Legislation Headquarters. I can learn a lot from you about the place where I live! Now if I can just get to the point where I can motor around again...
