I love my dog

Wear a smile and have friends; wear a scowl and have wrinkles.
George Eliot (1819-1890), novelist

today's saturday safari features indy (short for indiana jones). indy is a 7-month old poodle who lives at the home of l&j. along with being a very happy dog, indy is incredibly bright. I've heard that poodles are smart dogs and indy is proof of that! at 7 months he's well trained and behaved. according to this site poodles are the second 'smartest' breed of dog. before you look, guess what is number 1?

is there irony in an artist named cat singing a song called 'I love my dog'? this song was released in 1966 when yusuf islam, who was born steven demetre georgiou, went by cat stevens. geez, I feel deprived, I've only ever gone by one name in my life.

have a great weekend!

getting matching colors in carpeting and dog shows the dog's humans are pretty smart too :-)

Oh isn't he just too gorgeous for words!

As far as I know, Border Collies are the smartest dogs (Afghans are apparently the "least smart"), I think German Shepherds come in at three or four, with Golden Retrievers right behind them ;-)

poodles are sweeties.

I've only had one name my whole life too- -but I have a niece, 5 years younger who was named after me (exact same name) she has since had 2 additional married names and all the time her names/ addresses/ life history gets mixed up with mine even though we live in different states. Cat Stevens --I always thought his birth name was George , so I learned something new. Yusuf is kind of cool, though.

If I could choose a new name I'd pick Jane Doe.

coffee - I'm dreaming of flannel lined jeans. sounds as if your weather and our is the same! I have grown quite fond of poodles since meeting l&j - their dog before indy was also a poodle, although a smaller breed of poodle than indy - she passed away after a very long life

aileen - nice to see your avatar! hope you are staying well!

rlb - ah, but only the carpet on the stairs matches the dog - the rest of the home has wood floors and oriental carpets.

av - you are spot on with the #1 dog in terms of brains at least according to the website linked.

lettuce - yes, what a voice!

squirrel - I have used an alias when needed, but won't publish it as one never knows..... jane doe is very easy to spell.

I know a woman who has been married 3 times. her last name now is the last name of husband #2.... she said likes that name the best. she has kids from all three and they all have the names of the fathers... try addressing that holiday card envelop and try to be all inclusive!! crazy!
