come darkness, come light

From within or from behind, a light shines through us upon things, and makes us aware that we are nothing, but the light is all.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882) philosopher, poet, essayist

in checking out the blogs of someone who recently commented on my other blog, the lakewood daily snap, I stumbled on these

I'm chagrined to say, I now have a serious case of the wants.

anyone who knows me knows I would wear these shoes.

if anyone wants to send me a gift, I take a size 9. is wanting a pair of mouse shoes any worse than desiring this for christmas? for some odd reason, I have a feeling neither e nor I will be getting what we want!

I'm putting the MC Carpenter CD in my car to listen to on my way to do errands and p/u L!

I think perhaps you should start a Marc Jacobs mouse shoe fund; I believe these are a tad, er, pricey.

Love the photos, lovely song.

The shoe fund sounds like a good plan :-)

You could try modifying regular shoes to look like that.

I can totally see you wearing those shoes. In your dreams...

Love the photo of the grey sky and the glass decanters!

The decanters are just beautiful! How do you get your pictures to appear so large on the blog? Mine are always the same size, and much smaller. Maybe it is the choice of template??
"I do have a question -I have found that word verification prevents comment spam so I always wonder about comment moderation. what prompted you to institute comment moderation? were you receiving nasty or negative comments? just curious...."

No nasty comments. Just a good way to know who is commenting on which post, so I can read it. Sometimes there's an old post that someone responds to, and I wouldn't know unless I moderated. There have been a couple I've deleted over the life of the blog - only because they were commercial promotions.

I'd wear them unless they were made in China. I'd go with Bitchlet's idea of modifying shoes to look like (or better) than these You're certainly creative enough-- and Pat C. can help you.

Omigoodness those shoes made me giggle. How silly and cute is that!?!

Wish I could get them for you!

tut - they are pricey. even me the rationalizer of pricey shoes couldn't justify those (plus I've never had a pair of designer shoes in my life!) my the time the fund had enough money, I'm afraid the shoes would be obsolete - they probably are already. but they are fun!!

rlb - I must learn more about that cat, I'll have to ask em about the story.

b - that's a good idea. however, despite squirrel's impression, I don't know if I could really pull it off

jenclair - I expect my dreams will be the only place I'll be wearing mouse shoes. I just love the view from this friend's apartment. she lives on the fifth floor and I find the view always wonderfully dramatic.

nan - with the assistance of two helpers (praise julien & em - merci, merci, merci!!) I have learned how to edit the HTML for and customize the standard template. basically, over the course of blogging I've made two major modifications: 1)I reduced the size of the margin 2) I customize the size of my photo every time I want to have a bigger - this is simply a matter of changing the default number.

if you look at posts from the early days of the mouse you will note photos were much smaller - on march 9, 2008 (the first large photo was of a squirrel - of course - I love squirrels) I started tweaking the html whenever I wanted a bigger photo.

oh you can sign up for email notification of comments as a comment option without having to go through process of approval. which is very helpful if a comment was made on some old post... it's the last item, in the comment section of the settings tab

grok, grok?

I used to get spam comments until I instituted word verification. it's always someone trying to sell something. tacky!

squirrel - I (heart) you! methinks you overestimate my abilities....but that's because you (heart) me too!

megan - you're sweet! fortunately I have a very vivid dream life and I do believe I'm going to wear them constantly in my fact in my dreams I may even have a high-top version for those adventurous dreams where simple flats aren't enough shoe.

merle - I haven't a clue. although it does appear that you can buy them online for one's first born child or an arm or leg!

Did n't I see your perfect shoes yesterday at Traditions in Olympia -- felt mouse shoes, so cute! But you would have to wear them on your ears as they are sized for Ms. T (or younger).
