everything reminds me of my dog

I don't have a dog - but I have a 'granddog' - plus, I really enjoy hanging out and playing with my dog friends. the cats here on avenue c have told me in no uncertain terms that they are really opposed to the idea of a dog sharing our space 24/7 - they don't mind dogs visiting as long as they are well behaved.

anyway about this photo, at one point dixie was sitting right behind george-the-gargoyle and was mimicking the pose, by the time I grabbed my camera and came around dixie got up. I thought it was a sweet portrait none-the-less of the three guardians of the front porch.

hope everyone is enjoying the last dog days of summer..... (unless you are in the southern hemisphere, then I hope you are enjoying the last (bear?) days of winter.....)

issa's (the artist formerly known as jane siberry) boppy sweet song everything reminds me of my dog:

Dixie looks a lot like Reya's Jake to me. You know how much I love dogs!

There is no better friend than a dog - it is, after all, god, spelled backwards :-)

I am enjoying the dog days ... We had no pooch with which to celebrate The feast day of Saint Roch, the patron saint of dogs, back on August 16. I used to have a couple of dogs, way back when... but my cats are just as happy to celebrate the feast of Saint Roch with a toy plush dog and a donation to the seeing eye dogs.

Ha! your very own Foo dogs on the front porch, I see. A wall-guarded house :-)

As for the lady singer and her dog, I can't...for the life of me imagine someone having a... a...fixation on a...dog? come on!

(Cybèle says to say hi to the dog-dogs and to Foo-George too)

Dennis had a set of Emily Carr books from a visit to Vancouver. She wrote a lot. the lakewood bag is a nice place to go inside and nap.

That's my absolute favorite Jane Siebery song, and she's my favorite Canadian singer-songwriter. (Yes, I think I love her more than Joni and Neil). I must admit when I sing that song I chant "Everything reminds me of my cat." I really want to be more of a dog person, but cats are just so...catlike. They're hard to resist! Dogs are sweet but so approval needy and sloppy with their slobbbers.

So many artists are going their own way.

I don't know why, but I too put a JS song up, and it was the first I heard way back when for her, and my particular favorite of hers.

That was one crazy pic in the em! ; (

junk....agree completely with your take on cats vs dog...beautifully said. but for me joni and neil reign as the queen and king of canadian singer-songwriters....altho' at times leonard gives neil a run for it....

coffee - incredible....as I posted on your post...holy synchronicity batman!! not even jane's bd!! gosh she does have so many good songs...calling all angels.... maybe she is giving joni a run too! nah.....

did you and coffee plan a JS music thing???

bob - not at all just the synchronicity of the spheres!!

Good point about Leonard, Mouse. And of course Joni had her "Taming the Tiger" which was pleasant if a bit light before she went all dark and then "retired". "Shine" was a nice return, filled with some anger but resolve to fight the right fights and not just be all bitter. Though I've heard her defense of why she smokes "Tobacco is a calming herb," she said on Tavis Smiley. Oh, come on Joni, you're helping fund Phillip-Morris!

Love that song! Jane Siberry is great...though I concur that Joni is at the top of that heap.
