there's no place like home

dorothy was right 'there's no place like home' - today is the mouse's mother's birthday - happy birthday mom! in a couple hours, I'll be jumping on a flight for a long weekend in metro dc. I love visiting my mother and father on their birthdays and feel so blessed that at my age we have both of them still here on this mortal coil.

I expect we'll have a wee birthday celebration this evening and tomorrow my brother and his wife will drive down for another. we'll all be thinking of my sister and wishing she was with us - but since she lives in far off zambia, we understand it's a bit of an undertaking, so she's forgiven for missing the party. but annie, we're all counting down the days until you guys are home for a summer holiday!

along with my mom's birthday celebration, I'll be attending another celebration this weekend - the cosmic convergence of some of the bloggerhood hosted by barbara and reya in honor of lettuce's great u.s. tour.

the mouse will be way too busy partying to do any posting. since I return on cinco de mayo, I expect the party momentum will be continuing....so expect more mouse medicine may 6th!

click for a clip of dorothy saying there's no place like home- many happy repeats!!

photos: mouse with mother and bro, california 1957; bottom lovely rita, date unknown - dad - do you remember when you took this pic? I'm thinking it's premouse - perhaps, 1954?

Happy Birthday, Mouse's Mom! Hope it's a fabulous day.
I'll miss my regular Mouse readings but I've still got some archives to catch up on so I can console myself with them :) Hurry back.

I'm so glad you figured out the mystery! I wanted to help, but, alas, I just don't know my SoCal statues very well. :)

Hope your mom had a great birthday!

Sorry to miss all the fun in DC. Your mother is a beauty, and big hugs to the Capital Corridor bloggers.

What a beautiful photo....you have some awesome family pics. If I had such beauties they would be plastering my walls. What a lovely family portrait.

The 1950s! WOW! OMG! WOW! BEFORE THE BEATLES!

You are most fortunate to still have yer mother and father. The fact you still go out of your way to spend time with them is very important and you shall be rewarded.

Your brother and you were adorable. Mom is the definition of CLASS.
