blowing in the wind

in a few hours I'm blowing out of here. the mouse will return the end of the week.

until then, it's never too to late for any interested reader to list your favorite dylan tunes. to see the mouse's favorites - at least for one point in time see yesterday's comment section...

bob and joan performing blowing in the wind.

I dedicate this song to peace....and supporting the troops by bringing them home.

Yowzer, can't believe Bob is 67 - sheesh. I remember the days of singing along with Bob, strumming Bob's songs on my guitar or playing them on the piano - takes me back - but let's not say how far!

And I have to tell you, I am deeply envious of that dandelion shot!

Tomorrow is a Long Time

If today was not an endless highway,
If tonight was not a crooked trail,
If tomorrow wasn't such a long time,
Then lonesome would mean nothing to you at all.
Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin',
Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin',
Only if she was lyin' by me,
Then I'd lie in my bed once again.

I can't see my reflection in the waters,
I can't speak the sounds that show no pain,
I can't hear the echo of my footsteps,
Or can't remember the sound of my own name.
Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin',
Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin',
Only if she was lyin' by me,
Then I'd lie in my bed once again.

There's beauty in the silver, singin' river,
There's beauty in the sunrise in the sky,
But none of these and nothing else can touch the beauty
That I remember in my true love's eyes.
Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin',
Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin',
Only if she was lyin' by me,
Then I'd lie in my bed once again

I like the one about the prison--red wing

also I like to hear the peron who wrote the song sing it-- some covers are very good-but sugary sweet singers yodeling Dylan don't cut it--does not ring true at all-- Desolation row in sugary tones WTH????

Watchtower by Hendrix-- a great cover.

'Things Have Changed' is probably one of my favourite Dylan songs- but how do you pick just one?? I also love one he did with the Wilburys- 'Dirty World' and I like 'God On Our Side' and... I can't, just can't, pick one.

I totally forgot about the Wilburys! Congratulations, Handle with Care...

"How many years...?" goes the song they sing -- We are still enduring those years, but your photo, with seeds carried on the wind, suggests the answer. Thanks. I see where Keith Richards got the idea for his bandana head-dress!
