remind me

THE NECESSITY OF APPEARING
IN YOUR OWN FACE
There are days when that is the last place
in the world where you want to be but you
have to be there, like a movie, because it
features you.
Richard Brautigan (1935-1984) novelist & poet

Love the Niels Bohr quote: it's not an either/or world we live in, is it? Moving, always moving, changing, all the time even as we try to make sense of what we thought about it yesterday...or two seconds ago.

Showing up for work - Brautigan style. Love that too - always the featured artist in our own life and the supporting character or anonymous one in the crowd for others. But there whether we like it or not. Might as well make something of it.

As for the video, it's simply brilliant.

Another good-good post, mouse. Thankee.

I like the sentiment in the window. Something to remember in a season of debates and an increasingly polarized society.

I'm going to be lazy here but really Lee's River/Zlatovyek has said much what I might have if I was a bit more thoughtful!

Your blogposts are always a pleasant surprise.

Hi Mouse - loved the quote from Niels Bohr, as I see others do. Never came across it, though I studied him for a while.

Also just noticed your "cost of war" ticker. How true. I suspect it is crass to refer to one's own post, but you might like to have a read of the anti-war analysis/rant on my site. Although it looks at WWII, the modern day parallels are drawn. I'll paste the URL, but I don't know if it will work.

lee - merci, glad you checked out the vid, after your remark - I thought I'd 'market' it a bit more - everything's connected, eh?

jt - are we more polarized today then in the past? my question is serious.... I wonder, I truly do.

dd - mercix2

ched - hope you recovered from a 'busy sunny day' - busy-ness sometimes has a way of recharging the ol' batteries, hope this was the case. look forward to hearing how the rendezvous with lettuce went! alas, reading between the lines it appears you will not be at the cosmic convergence taking place in a week.

like your erie poem.....

will see you one day this way or that way
