about to rain

A little madness in the Spring
Is wholesome even for the King,
But God be with the Clown —
Who ponders this tremendous scene —
This whole Experiment of Green —
As if it were his own!
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) poet

we hear that canada geese 'mate for life, ' when I ran into this couple I had to wonder if they had a spat - I do hope it's not serious...

the forest floor is so lush and verdant these days

each little bud holds so much promise

between showers yesterday I took in a brief walk in the nearby park - I had hoped to do a little communing with nature over the weekend, but both saturday and sunday were crowded with more than usual number of planned activities. alas, we never found the time to fit a hike in. but all for the best as there's something especially magical about being on nature walk on a week day when there are no other humans around and spring is bursting out all over.

Yeah what IS that pink blossomed tree? It is the prettiest pink tree I've ever seen.

need to plant one of those.

re: my friend--the euro story is actually worse, but nobody needs the entire downer story, so I actually left out some evil parts -- her in laws (and hubby) often depress her, but with 2 kids she just wants to keep things together. For some women, the kids are the excuse for submitting to very bad treatment. She is blind when it comes to hubby's many flaws.

steve - you are a tree maven!! that indeed is a redbud - a most beautiful and glorious tree.

dennis - I feel very fortunate to be so close to his wonderful park - it is truly a gem on 'the emerald necklance'

ched... see steve's id!!! my bud jane (who lives in oberlin) a a bit of a redbud fanatic and has planted several in her newly acquired bit of acreage...

hugs and prayers from mouse going up for your friend....it is most tragic, unfortunately, as you have observed, her plight is not all together uncommon....

Emily Dickinson was pretty cool, but I often feel bad for the poor gal for she suffered terrible depression and angst, but I guess that's what made her so creative and worthwhile I guess.

Hey, even geese need their space too.
