bright sky

When you realize how perfect everything is you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky.
Prince Gautama Siddharta (563-483 BCE), founder of Buddhism

picture: from "the treasure box" - my brother, father and I sitting in front of daibutsu in kamakura-- the 37 foot tall, 93 ton bronze amida buddha statue, constructed in 1252 regarded as japan's second most photographed icon after mt. fuji. taken during a holiday in japan, 1965.

Yep, he was and still is, quite right!

I was running on the treadmill this morning and was suddenly struck by the perfection of everything around me in that moment and started grinning like a Chesire Cat - much to the consternation of my fellow exercisers! :-)

As soon as I saw that I thought I recognized you. :)
How cool was your family taking a holiday to Japan? The furthest we ever got was Sea World in Aurora!

A great shot. I have a favorite of my mother at age 30 in front of the Buddha in the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park and one of my niece 50 years late and at almost the same age and in the same pose. Perhaps you'll have a chance to revisit this spot down the road.
