be cool

The moment we indulge our affections, the earth is metamorphosed, there is no winter and no night; all tragedies, all ennui, vanish - all duties even.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882) philosopher, poet, essayist

what a difference a week makes! wasn't it just last week that we broke high temperature records and ms t and I were running around with just our jean jackets on! the view above was taken yesterday. twas an excellent day to spend sewing in the studio. I'm happy to report today the sun is out, the sky is blue (most unusual) and it's an absolutely gorgeous winter day - however, the thermometer on the back porch is registering a brisk 23 degrees F (or -5 C).

I was just thinking what a difference a week makes in so many ways. Lately I have been on an appreciation for each day mode. This is usually the way I feel but since the new year I have tried to be more aware of the blessings in my life and to appreciate things on a deeper level. I know this was off the topic but...you started it. ;)

The weather here has been mostly warm and because of the warm or maybe because of the clouds it is warm and because of the clouds the air is foul.

What a difference the sun makes...your two photos show dreary and cheery...and maybe because of the clouds here I have had a difficult time in the cheery, but am springing into action, vitamin D and exercise...

lets hope it works I have fallen behind in class and yesterday didn't even go to class.

One thing I do miss about growing up in COnnecticut is the screaming blue skies that normally arrived after a snowstorm ! The air always smells so fresh and clean too !
