jigsaw I

I'm happy to report that ginger care's jigsaw puzzle is done! I first posted about ginger's puzzle in october. yesterday while off on one of my usual strolls around the hood, I noticed the puzzle was finished. this is the first time I actually saw people in the waiting area where the puzzle is set up. one of the people saw me with my camera pointed at the puzzle and tried to ask me something; thwarted by not being able to converse through the plate glass window I entered the establishment, which by the way, is quite lovely inside and filled with equally lovely people. I went into the room and talked a bit with the man who was trying to talk to me while I was outside. after that I went up to the front desk to explain why I just happened to walk in. I told the woman who was staffing the desk that I live in the neighborhood and that for the last couple months I've been walking by and monitoring the progress of their puzzle. I said I was happy to see it done. she laughed and was very pleased that someone else was taking pleasure in the puzzle. she then pointed to a box on the top of a file cabinet and said the next puzzle was going to be a real challenge. so stay tuned jigsaw II will be coming to a mouse near you!

How did you do the old film effect (for lack of a technical term for it) with the video? It looks great!
A lovely little project.

gaye - the effect is just one of the options available with slide.com - a site I have been using for all the slide shows on the mouse.

I have very pleasant memories of doing jigsaw puzzles with my father before his memory took him into such a fog that he could not concentrate. A favorite Christmas was being stranded due to ice and snapping in the puzzle pieces with him. It seemed so unremarkable at the time, but something that warms me now just thinking about it...
