I think the tradition of Samhainn come from Scotland. Happy Halloween! I brought all of my pumpkins with me to work so I could carve them and have them ready for tonight while SF and I are T or T-ing. Cute kitty!
wish I could take credit for carving the pumpkin, but alas didn't - just took the picture. I actually got a little pumpkin that I meant to carve, but been so busy I never got around to it - too small to make a pie or soup from so I may just give it to the family of squirrels that hang out at the birdfeeders. squirrels seem to really enjoy pumpkins!
the weather was gorgeous for the trick or treaters and my street turned into an impromptu block party with the candy givers all sitting out enjoying the kids, the weather and the spirit of the community.
an added bonus this year was the delay in the return to standard time (or is it dst? I always get confused which is which) was still light out at 6 pm - which is the 'official' kickoff time for t&t
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. Margaret Mead (1901-1978)

Oh yeah, they're out there wandering around, partying, as the dead do around this time of year. Trick? or Treat?? I say

Happy Samhain,
John :)
I did not go tricking nor treating this year, and I wore my usual post-work costume of pajama pants and hoodie.
*sigh*
There's always next year!
did you carve that?
